Where better to have an ultra special ‘Mother- Daughter’ trip than the sensational island of Santorini. Both Mum and I LOVE Greece and have been fortunate enough to spend a lot of time there during family holidays and solo trips. There is nothing quite like exploring the Ionian Islands and walking round the local Greek towns and villages seeing the iconic white and blissfully blue roof-tops.
We treated ourselves to a 5 day trip during October as a break from working hard to complete our A/W16 collection. I have to say, 5 days was a perfect amount of time. It felt so much longer! Just the right length of stay to relax and rejuvenate. I think this is one of my most memorable trips and I will treasure Santorini in my heart forever. A truly special trip and it felt amazing to spend time together away from work in such an idyllic place.
So, where did we stay!? The hotel was .. I cannot even find the words to describe it, so i will provide a selection of photographs. I give you .. ‘San Antonio’…
As soon as we stepped onto the hotel terrace, we were welcomed with the beautiful sunshine, glistening on the Ionian sea. We received champagne on arrival and our room came with a welcome basket of fruit, coffee and wine! Our room was perfect which included a private balcony / chill area with a perfect sun-bed! We stayed in the Classic Sea View room. You can opt for many different rooms to stay in, including suits with a private Jacuzzi. If you are interested in seeing what other rooms are on offer, tap this link to find out more: https://www.sanantonio-santorini.com/rooms-suites/
Our stay was perfect for so many reasons. It’s always super dreamy receiving a drink on arrival. It makes you feel extra special and sets you up for that official holiday feeling! Our stay not only included a drink on arrival, but we also had breakfast with out stay PLUS a 40 minute session in the private spa / jacuzzi…
Breakfast was breathtaking not just because of how delicious it was but the VIEW. Wow. Every morning we would sit on our own private table, over-looking the morning sun.
This is one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed in. We booked our holiday, which included our hotel, flights and transfers from Voyage Privi. I always use this website as I think it has the best selection of special holidays, for really good value. All you have to do is create an account to view what they currently have on offer. With Voyage Privi, you get some wonderful added luxury such as massages, spa use, fruit/cocktails on arrival and every transfer is usually in a very comfortable car with water. https://www.voyage-prive.co.uk/login/index
Santorini is just one of the many Greek islands which is breathtakingly beautiful. Santorini definitely has the ‘instagramable’ vibe to it with a lot of influencers, instagramers and bride and grooms bustling around trying to capture the perfect shot! Sometimes places can became way too ‘over-popular’ and they start to lose the uniqueness due to becoming super touristy and busy. The best part about San Antonio hotel was that it was hidden away in its own private cove. It was the perfect hide-away, despite only being 15km from Santorini’s International Airport and only 5km from the picturesque capital, Fira. The hotel itself is built into into volcanic rock, sitting 100 meters above sea level, offering the most impressive unobstructed views of the Caldera
We could have easily just stayed at our hotel and never left! It felt too good to leave. However, during our 5 days, we managed to get in some sight-seeing. Santorini isn’t a big island and there really isn’t an awful lot to do. It’s certainly somewhere just to relax and take in the sun-set views. As San Antonia is set into a volcanic rock, it offers some amazing walks. We managed to walk along the top from our hotel, straight to the capital, Fira. The walk was stunning and offered more incredible views! Along the way, there are traditional Greek churches which you can look inside.
